NEW YORK, NY, February 25, 2010 – TransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held provider of language and business services, today announced that Vice President of Sales Jessica Eker was named “National VP of Sales of the Year” at the 2010 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service in Miami Beach, Florida.
The awards are presented by the Stevie Awards, which organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows including the prestigious American Business Awards. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” winners were announced during a gala banquet on Monday, February 22 at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach. Nominated customer service and sales executives from the U.S.A. and several other countries attended.
More than 500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year’s competition. There are 27 categories for customer service professionals, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year, as well as 41 categories for sales professionals, ranging from Global Sales Leader of the Year to Sales Training Program of the Year to Sales Department of the Year.
As TransPerfect’s Vice President of Global Life Sciences, Eker manages a team of 40 sales professionals throughout the US and Canada. Among a group of four finalists, Eker was highlighted for producing record sales numbers from her team, as well as spearheading several strategic programs that fostered the overall success of TransPerfect throughout the year.
