It was a busy week in the chat translation segment this week with new products, partnerships and other news making headlines.
Chat translation is becoming more readily adopted in the travel industry. Translations.com, a provider of language services and translation-related technologies, announced that Princess Cruises, a leading cruise line in the world serving more than 1 million passengers each year, has deployed its GlobalLink OneLink (News - Alert) solution to reach more travelers in their native language, all over the world.
Princess Cruises has deployed the chat translation and language service to localize content on its POLAR Online portal, a booking tool used by travel agents worldwide. Princess Cruises used GlobalLink OneLink to launch its Spanish-language portal and plans to roll out additional offerings in Portuguese and Japanese later this year.
Capping the week, TMCnet reported more growth in the chat translation segment, with news from TransPerfect, a provider of language services and translation-related technologies, who announced the opening of a new remote interpretation facility in Arizona. The new technology hosted on-site enables TransPerfect to supplement existing capabilities with increased call capacity, improved redundancy and security, and additional client service personnel.
