NEW YORK & Zurich, April 7, 2010 – TransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held provider of translation services, today announced that its second office in Switzerland has officially opened and is located in Zurich. With the addition of this location, TransPerfect expands its global footprint to 16 cities in Europe and to 58 cities worldwide.
Switzerland has traditionally been a major hub for international trade. It was ranked the world’s #1 most competitive economy in the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2008-2009. Zurich is the commercial center of Switzerland and is the country’s largest city. Major global companies with European operations headquartered in Switzerland include Nestlé, UBS, Roche Group, Novartis, Adecco, and Tyco International.
The new office will enable TransPerfect to provide a local point of contact to existing clients in the Greater Zurich Area, as well as in nearby cities such as Luzern and Basel. According to TransPerfect Co-CEO Liz Elting, “When we make the decision to open a new office, our primary motivation is serving the needs of our clients. Over the past five years, our Geneva location has seen a significant overall increase in demand from Swiss companies, which made Zurich an obvious choice for expansion.”
