Translations.com Selected For Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 Program
September 25, 2003 - Translations.com, an offshoot of TransPerfect Translations, has been named a Rising Star in Deloitte & Touche's Technology Fast 50 program for New York. The Rising Star award is a special designation for fast-growth technology companies and is part of the New York Technology Fast 50 program, which ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies headquartered in the state. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over three years (2000 to 2002). Sponsors include Bank of New York, Geller & Company, Marsh Financial Services, NASDAQ, and Proskauer Rose.
The selection of Translations.com, co-founded by Phil Shawe, President and Liz Elting, Chairperson, was based on exceptional revenue growth. The company provides language services and multilingual content management software, which support global operations for clients from virtually every major industry including financial services, travel and tourism, consumer technology, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing.
An offshoot of TransPerfect Translations, the nation's leading ISO 9001:2008 registered translation company co-founded by Shawe and Elting in 1992, Translations.com "has shown the strength, vision and temerity to succeed despite a very challenging technology environment," according to Larry Wizel, Partner in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications practice of Deloitte & Touche and Chair of the New York Technology Fast 50. "We applaud the successes of Translations.com and acknowledge their place as one of the few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past three years."
Shawe notes, "We have thrived in a challenging economic climate because our services and software are rooted in helping some of the world's largest companies transact business and communicate more effectively on a global scale in all channels." Elting adds, "The rapid growth of Translations.com clearly shows that companies competing in global markets are prospering in this economy."
Deloitte & Touche will announce the rankings of the Rising Star winners at an awards dinner on Thursday, September 25, 2003, at the Ritz-Carlton New York. To qualify for the Technology Fast 50 Rising Star program, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2000 and $1,000,000 in 2002 and must be public or private companies headquartered in North America.
