OpSource Helps Astoria Software Expand its SaaS Business

Astoria Software has selected OpSource (News - Alert) Inc. to expand the company’s Software as a Service or SaaS business. An announcement in this regard has been made by Dimension Data's wholly-owned enterprise cloud and managed hosting business, OpSource Inc. Astoria Software is a division of TransPerfect, Inc.
A managed service provider was needed by Astoria when it launched its SaaS (News - Alert) offering, Astoria On-Demand. The managed service provider should be able to provide a highly reliable, 24/7 infrastructure solution with value-added services. The only provider having complete knowledge of running and operationally scaling a SaaS business was OpSource. Astoria therefore selected OpSource after evaluating several hosting providers.
In a release, Michael Rosinski, president and CEO, Astoria said, "We found that many of the managed service providers out there in the market were just pure hosting. They wanted to charge us for rack and power but they didn't offer any of the value-added services that differentiate software-as-a-service from simple hosting."
According to Rosinski, unlike other providers, OpSource had a global footprint and global support. SaaS companies like Astoria are also provided a flexible pricing model by OpSource.
A complete on-demand infrastructure is provided to Astoria by OpSource's Managed Hosting platform. Mission-critical hosted applications are provided the required flexibility, advanced application support and technical expertise. Everything from provisioning the physical server to securely enabling the on-demand application to conducting testing and validation is supervised by OpSource. Astoria’s services face minimal disruption as 24/7 support is provided by OpSource. A highly-available service can be therefore delivered by Astoria to its customers.
Rosinski added that OpSource has become an integral part of Astoria's operations over the course of last five years. The major contributor to Astoria On-Demand's success is OpSource. The company’s SaaS business cannot function without OpSource.
