Combined Companies Will Form Technology-Focused Subsidiary of The World's Largest Privately-Held Language Services Firm, TransPerfect Translations
Yahoo! Finance - May 25, 2006
Translations.com, a leader in website and software localization, Globalization Management software products, and enterprise-level translation solutions, today announced that it has completed a merger with leading software localization and content solutions provider, ArchiText Inc.
Boston-based ArchiText will become a division of Translations.com and continue to be led by founder Hans Fenstermacher, a 25-year veteran of the localization industry and founding Chairman of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). In addition to remaining President of the ArchiText Division, Fenstermacher will join the senior management team of Translations.com.
Merger Matches Industry Experience, Know-How, and Resources
"Hans Fenstermacher is one of the most highly respected figures in the localization industry, and we are delighted to welcome him and the entire ArchiText staff to our team. Translations.com and ArchiText have historically been two of the more client-focused and innovative players in the localization arena, and this union will allow us to deliver a better value proposition and broader scope of services to all our clients," said Phil Shawe, President and CEO of Translations.com.
"As a lifelong veteran of this industry, I've had the opportunity to get to know many localization service providers. In Translations.com, we are extremely fortunate to have found a merger-partner that shares our core values of quality, client-orientation, and relentless innovation," Fenstermacher added.
Deal Includes IP Related To ABREVE® Global Content Solutions
ArchiText and Translations.com plan to develop and leverage ABREVE®, ArchiText's patent-pending process and technology which enables multinational clients to control cost by effectively reducing the amount of authored content they create and translate. ABREVE® clients benefit from improved and global-ready English content, which leads to a dramatic reduction in localization expenditures. "In addition to offering a global footprint to drive ABREVE® sales, this merger will allow for expanded investment to further enhance our ABREVE® offering," Fenstermacher stated.
