TransPerfect Translations, one of the world's foremost language services providers, today announced that it has been awarded a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract by the General Services Administration (GSA). TransPerfect's Federal Supply Schedule contract number is GS-10F-0076S, and the contract period is five years with three five-year options. Under this GSA schedule, TransPerfect is approved to provide federal agencies with a full range of language communications services including translation, interpretation, and transcription.
According to Brooke Christian, TransPerfect's Senior Vice President of Global Sales, "We have seen a significant increase in demand for translations from government agencies. We attribute the majority of this increase to two trends. The first is an increase in the need for linguists to support national security efforts. The second is that a range of government agencies are seeking to enhance their communication initiatives directed toward the increasing population of US citizens for whom English is not their preferred language."
The United States Federal Government is one of the world's largest procurers of translation and interpretation services. In dollar volume, the largest GSA schedule purchasers within the government are the Department of Defense, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Justice.
TransPerfect works extensively with over twenty agencies within the US government including the Department of Justice, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Treasury. Most recently, TransPerfect provided services in 24 languages to support the launch of the newly designed US currency for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Liz Elting, President and CEO of TransPerfect, added, "Being awarded a GSA contract is a true validation of our commitment to providing both the highest quality and highest value solution in the language industry. Further, while our services have always been well-received by various clients throughout the federal government, the GSA contract will further enhance our offering by simplifying the ordering process and decreasing administrative time in the purchasing cycle."
